Lindsay Lohan announced her engagement to her Instagram fans.

Lohan proposed to boyfriend Bader Shammas and displayed a conventional oval diamond ring alongside a snapshot of the two looking delighted and locked in an embrace.

“I love you.” This is my life. My loved ones. “My future,” the message stated.

For some years, the 35-year-old “Mean Girls” star has been based in the skyscraper-studded city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Hollywood stars trying to escape the spotlight have long traveled to the glittering emirate, where the many VIPs who hole up in luxury villas on the city’s palm-shaped artificial island are not tracked by paparazzi.

Shammas, a Dubai resident who states on his LinkedIn page that he is the assistant vice president of international wealth management at Credit Suisse, is a mystery. He worked in Kuwait and Bahrain for BNP Paribas, one of the major French banks, before joining the Swiss bank that services some of the world’s wealthiest people.

Lohan has kept a quiet profile since relocating to Dubai, claiming that her partying days were behind her.

She will star alongside singer-songwriter Chord Overstreet in a Netflix holiday romantic comedy due out in December. She also announced the debut of a new podcast on Instagram, promising to provide “intimate dialogues with thought leaders and friends.”
