You grew up in a small town in New Mexico. Did you always have dreams of stardom?

No, I wouldn’t say dreams of stardom, but I did dream of traveling the world. I used to decorate my bedroom with posters of exotic places. I really wanted to travel, and not just to beautiful places, but I wanted to interact with different cultures. I love diversity and learning from other’s experiences and perspectives.

How did your family shape your future?

My family wanted to support me in my dreams and they did. We weren’t a rich family, so resources were limited, but they helped me by being verbally and emotionally supportive and always just being a phone call away if I needed anything. I know I can depend on them. Always.

Corrie grew up in a small town in New Mexico. She is the biracial daughter of a first-generation Chinese father who worked in the restaurant and real estate business, and Caucasian American mother who worked as a teacher. Corrie has one older sister who works as a model and an event planner in Las Vegas. As a child, Corrie developed interests that persisted into her adult life. As the granddaughter of a painter, Corrie inherited artistic ability and she enjoys painting landscapes, abstracts, and portraits using oil and acrylic paints.

You have worked with the fashion industry’s top brands and publications such as Mouawad Diamonds, Fashion Nova, Playboy, The Jessica Angel Collection, Popsi Lingerie, Dolcessa Swimwear. What does it take to work with these brands?

It takes a lot of passion and hard work. I’m constantly networking and attending events and meeting people. A lot of it is who you know. You have to get out there and be a social butterfly.

What have you learned along the way?

I’ve learned to set goals and boundaries. I think it’s important to always be true to yourself and a big part of that is not giving a fuck about how others think you should live your life.

How proud are you of the Asian Culture?

I’m very proud of the Asian culture and that side of my family. From my Chinese grandparents, who were amazing cooks, I learned to view cooking as an art and a way of communicating love. Family meals were important. My Chinese family also valued martial arts and I grew up taking classes and working out with my dad and my sister. I also inherited an artistic gift from my Chinese great grandfather and I’ve always been encouraged to develop that talent. Lastly, I’d like people to know that my grandparents immigrated to the United States. They both struggled in China. My grandfather was actually sold at an auction when he was 6 because his family was so poor. And my grandmother was a child when the Japanese invaded China. She was able to survive the war because her uncle was the translator in their village and he helped with communication between the Chinese and the Japanese. Their lives weren’t easy, but they were strong people who came here, worked hard in the restaurant business, and they achieved the American Dream.

Who would you like to work with?

I’d like to work with Maxim, Sports Illustrated, and FHM.

What’s next for you?

I am going to keep doing what I’m currently doing and growing my company and brand.
