Plot
In 2019, following a series of catastrophic natural disasters, an international coalition develops “Dutch Boy,” a system of climate-controlling satellites. Chief architect Jake Lawson, who initially brought Dutch Boy online without authorization, is replaced by his brother Max under the oversight of U.S. Secretary of State Leonard Dekkom. Three years later, strange weather events suggest a malfunction in the system, prompting Jake to investigate. Discovering a virus has compromised the satellites, Jake and his team at the International Climate Space Station (ICSS) work to neutralize the threat while Max and his girlfriend, Secret Service agent Sarah Wilson, attempt to secure the necessary kill code from U.S. President Andrew Palma to reboot the system.
As disasters escalate worldwide, Max uncovers a conspiracy led by Dekkom to use Dutch Boy for global domination. With the help of Sarah, Max protects Palma and secures the kill code. Meanwhile, Jake identifies a traitor on the ICSS who had orchestrated the sabotage. Amidst a series of dramatic confrontations and narrow escapes, Jake and his team manage to reboot the system and avert the impending “Geostorm.” The ICSS self-destructs, but Jake and station commander Ute Fassbinder escape in a satellite and are rescued. In the aftermath, Jake resumes his role as head engineer for Dutch Boy, now overseen by an international committee.
