From the outside, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello’s relationship appears to be picture-perfect, but the musical duo goes through ups and downs like any other couple.
Shawn recently spoke with SiriusXM on what it’s like to fight with Camila, noting that they have a history of fighting. “We get in the worst little arguments” however great at pointing it out when someone goes wrong. “We have a really honest and open relationship, but…we definitely fight,” Shawn continued, “I think the longer the relationship goes, it’s like the easier it seems to be to fight. So, yeah, it’s definitely not that holding hands all the time, but we’re really good with each other. It never gets bad. It’s always like a little fight.”
He also mentioned the importance of accepting your mistakes even when you feel like it’s hard to, “All of it, it takes all my might in the entire world, but I have to admit that I’m wrong, but it takes everything, my face probably looks like tight and red, but I say I’m wrong.”
This isn’t the first time #Shawmila has revealed the truth about their relationship, which is approaching two years this summer. Camila revealed in an Instagram post last year that nothing about their relationship is “perfect.” She captioned, “as simple as it looks in pictures, sometimes, it’s messy and uncomfortable and ugly.”
She emphasized that pulling back the curtain is vital since social media only tells one side of the story. “I’m all for being vulnerable on social media because I think only the neatness and perfection of life is shown on here; and that can make us all feel extra lonely and weird!” Camila wrote back then. “So raise your glass to the messiness and weirdness of being human and the miracle. And the easiness. And the instinct. And the relentless force that is love.” Okay, salud to that!
