In early June, Kanye West and Irina Shayk were first seen together in France, where they were celebrating the rapper’s 44th birthday.
The 44-year-old rapper’s brief relationship with the 35-year-old model has ended, according to sources. “It was never a serious thing that took off,” a source close to the couple remarked.
“Kanye has been busy working and spending time with his kids. This is his focus. He doesn’t have time to date right now. He finds Irina amazing though,” they added “They remain friendly.”
West and Shayk’s representatives did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The couple’s split was announced just over a month after a source told us that Shayk was unhappy with the breakup rumors.
“Irina is so upset at the lies about her and Kanye,” the source said at the time. “They are very much still dating.”
The two artists were first seen together in early June at Villa La Coste in France, where they were celebrating the rapper’s 44th birthday. West began courting Shayk, 35, a few weeks ago, according to a source, and the two had previously hung out in New York City, where she lives.
“He invited her to France and she happily accepted, they are not officially dating, but there is interest from both sides.” Our source dished.
A separate insider confirmed the couple’s plans to date long-distance later that month, adding, “Kanye will continue to be L.A.-based. He has no plans to move to NYC. He is very focused on business in L.A. too. He likes spending time with Irina and plans to see her soon again.”
Kim Kardashian, Kanye West’s ex-wife, was aware of the romance “for weeks” before the musician’s birthday celebration abroad, according to West’s ex-wife, who filed for divorce in February.
“It doesn’t bother Kim that Kanye is dating. Her only concern is their kids,” a source previously disclosed, “She wants Kanye to be present and spend as much time with them as possible.
