There’s also your family and your career as a journalist to consider. CNN has suspended Chris Cuomo due to his readiness to jeopardize the latter in the service of his brother.

The network fired him on Tuesday, citing evidence obtained by New York’s attorney general indicating he had a larger role than previously acknowledged in the defense of his brother, former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who was accused of sexual harassment.

According to email transcripts and Chris Cuomo’s testimony before state investigators, he strategized with the governor’s advisers on a frequent basis and attempted to assist them in learning what other journalists were publishing about harassment complaints.

CNN stated that he was more involved than the company’s leaders, as well as the broader public, were aware of.

“As a result,” a CNN representative said, “we have suspended Chris indefinitely, pending further evaluation.”

Cuomo and the lawyer who represented him in testimony before state Attorney General Letitia James’ investigators this summer did not respond to messages seeking comment.

The Cuomos come from a political family in New York that dates back to their father, Mario, who served three terms as governor from 1982 to 1996. Andrew was in his third term when he resigned earlier this year, and he was adamant about breaking his father’s record.

Even though Chris is more than 13 years younger than his brother, Andrew was his father’s most trusted adviser and defender during Mario’s first campaign and early years as governor – an example of commitment that Chris grew up observing.

They routinely refer to each other as “best buddies.”

Chris Cuomo said in his July testimony, “He’s my brother, and I love him to death no matter what.” “I was only given one.”

Despite this, Michael Shnayerson, author of “The Contender,” an unauthorized biography of Andrew published in 2015, says they were intensely competitive.
