“Getting my mom Maggie a play date with Betty White, who graciously agreed to be a guest star on an episode of “Kathy Griffin My Life on the D List,” was a bucket list moment, emotional and humorous at the same time. Maggie was astonished, so when Betty showed up… at Sizzler Senior Early Bird Special, my mother about passed out! And I got to spend the day with my mother and Betty White, both on and off camera. It was simply a girls’ day out. Betty treated my mother as though she were a friend. She answered every question and seemed surprised by…every word I said, which was required. She hung out with my mother as if she were a peer. She acted as if we were both members of the same club. In the realm of comic gurrrls, she genuinely treated me as an equal. She was both bright and witty, as well as gentle and sensible… There will only be one Betty White, no matter how long this earth continues to spin.” — Kathy Griffin (@KathyGriffin) on Twitter
